COLLEGE STUDENTS/ PEOPLE WHO FOOT THEIR OWN...
Talk to me.
Last year I had a meal plan and was AOK with eating well because, well, there was a salad bar and cooked chicken on hand at all times.
What does your grocery list/ weekly meal plan look like?? I’m trying to be productive and make myself a strategy here, and I know I can turn to the tumblr world. <3
Anonymous asked: Hi my name is Sarah, I have been troubled with my weight lately. I want to loose more weight because I feel like my bf doesn't like me the size I am right now. I was thinner before because I was on atkin's diet. I stopped because I wanted to eat other food. I was quite thin because I ate very little and on a low carb diet. What should I do to win him back?

hair help?
My hair is all grown out from my bob, and it looks like this:
Ignore the fact that I look totally miserable (I was doing French homework) and help a sista out! Do any of you ladies know of good medium-length haircuts? I know that there are tons of fashionable, gutsy girls following me.
Bonus round: I’m also thinking of adding an unnatural color to it, though not all over. If anyone has...

I got my computer back about 3 days ago after it dragging me through hell trying to fix it. Besides the hard drive failing, it turns out there was a flashcard jammed in the CD drive that was obstructing the optical drive… er.. thing.
So anyway, thanks for that God and now I’ll never study again.
Speaking of, you can see me waste time and not really talk about fitness at the link...
fattyfattynofriendsnomore asked: I thought of you recently when I discovered a recipe for making pizza crust out of cauliflower. It reminded me of your spinach bread. The fact that I mixed it up in my Maleficent bowl just added to it.
Your worth is so much more than the size of your jeans, the arch of your eyebrow. The things that you think and the ideas you want to share are valuable and important. Do not let anyone make you feel as if you are only an object to be scrutinized or admired. You are a salient piece of the human experience and you are owed respect.
and surprise!
my ask is enabled on both blogs. :)

Anonymous asked: How do you deal with cravings or binges? I seem to do so well for a few days and then I feel as though I'm starving and I pig out for a day and then go back on track. I wish I had more self control! Tips?

Poser~
Three months later, and my hair is actin’ a fool with all this humidity.
I know I should be working so that when I get back up to school I won’t have to survive on peanut butter and trail mix sandwiches, pretzels, and raisins…
but really, people, what has become of my hair and why is it bell-shaped?
I've been having serious talks with my best friend...
It sounds like a really ridiculous, scary, and overwhelming idea, especially for two people who can barely legally drink, but dreams only come true for people who take the leap and pursue them, right…?

Dog Days...
It’s going to climb up to 97 degrees today in Chapel Hill.
Sophie’s not ready!
I am not one of those people who wake up hungry. Actually, breakfast is kind of struggle for me sometimes, because it seems like every time I eat early in the day, I spend the rest of the day hungry.
Probably because food wakes the metabolism up as they say, and it spikes your blood sugar....

Georgia on My Mind...
Even though my early summer trip to Atlanta ended quite some time ago, I am still pining for the huge magnolia trees, live R&B music, and the pungent smell of gardenias.
North Carolina is the south, technically, but I miss the humidity and gritty deep south I grew up in.
Another pungent smell? The awesome Indian food we ate for dinner while in Atlanta one night.
I’ve had these...
Balancing Act
Lately my days have been filled in the lazy way summer days tend to be — a mixture of leisure and work, momentary blips of attention to whatever floats in my line of view. I can’t say I miss the hustle of the school year; what a relief that my coffee can now be sipped from a mason jar rather than thrown into my system with haste.
It’s been an enjoyable couple of weeks spent...
If you’re wondering where I’ve been, the answer is I went on a road trip and spent all my money, so I’m slaving away on freelance editing work in order to earn some of it back.
I also got a new camera. I’m not entirely sure how to use it yet.
I will be totally honest and admit that it hurts my feelings a lot to come back and see how many unfollowers have resulted...

Protein Power! and a wild goose chase...
Believe it or not, there was a waiting list of EIGHTY-TWO people for Catching Fire.
Say whaaat? After the library, I went to Borders to pick up a copy and they were out, too! I have a Borders gift card, so I suppose I’ll be ordering Catching Fire and Mockingjay online since I already bought Hunger Games for my class last semester.
Now, quick question since I’m on the Borders website:...

What books should I get at the library today?
Besides Catching Fire, of course.

Dude, you got a Dell?
The short answer is hell no but I am currently stealing my 16-year-old brother’s Dell laptop (kids have those these days?? Also relevant: my ten-year-old bro asking for a cell phone) while my Macbook recovers.
By “recovering” I mean it is chilling in Andrew’s car with a defunct hard drive.
Okay, so I’m being a brat. How do you mourn a self-destructive computer that...

That's Good! That's Bad!
Did you ever read this book when you were a kid? It was one of my mom’s favorites, and whenever I would go visit my Granny after school (she lived within walking distance and we’d walk there), we’d read her old copy.
The book goes like this:
The boy’s parents gave him a balloon. That’s good!
Then, suddenly, the balloon lifted him away into the sky. That’s...

Cold snap!
I am always a little scared that the tumblr community will raise hell on me if they see me eating too many grains, but a peek over at one of my favorite non-tumblr health food bloggers Kath and her Tribute to Oatmeal has me craving a big bowl of warm oats.
Especially up here in the mountains, where it is supposedly May but for some reason it’s below 50 degrees outside!
So, that’s...

Junk Collector
Today has been such a productive day!
First, I have been cleaning and organizing my room like a fiend because my summer subleaser moves in tomorrow! As excited as I am, I’m also kind of sad because I have to leave my room and let someone else enjoy for a few months. Still, times are tough — can’t pay that rent until my scholarship refund comes in!
I promise a big post about the...

THE FITBLR CONVENTION IS NIGH
If there’s one thing I have to hand to Alex, it’s his persistence and dedication. He has totally transformed his life from sedentary to very healthy, which is awesome. However, he has also been rallying the troops and doing impossible planning just to bring a very special opportunity to you…
(drumroll please)
…The Fitblr Convention!
Now he just needs for you to sign...

Easy like Sunday mornin'
One of the best parts about going to visit Andrew’s family is that his father is an organic farmer. They always have plenty of produce to spare, as long as you’re willing to pick and wash it yourself!
So for breakfast, we made fresh spinach and red onion omelettes with bacon, salsa and we split an English muffin. It was divine! The smell of the fresh spinach leaves and pungent...

My hot date -- with Starlight Six Theatre!
Last night was my first experience at a drive-in. It was totally incredible even though I was seeing the ever-popular (overproduced and kind of underwhelming yet cheesy and totally wonderful) Thor. (No hating on actual Thor, y’all. I knew what I was getting myself into when I suggested we go. It’s just… not really my bag?)
I would go see it again tonight if I could, though. I...

Victory Sandwich Bar -- Atlanta, Ga
Yesterday around 1:30, once we finally arrived in Atlanta and were ready to fill our traveling bellies with good grub, we picked a restaurant from our researched list and set sail in the Subaru.
After a brutal battle with big city traffic, which made a four-minute drive into a fifteen minute one, we landed at the Victory Sandwich Bar.
As you can see, I haven’t quite mastered the...

Georgia, Georgia... the whooole day through!
I actually won’t tell you about ALL of my day, because I just uploaded my pictures and I have literally over a hundred of them. So obviously I’ll just queue them up and post them in segments! I know you’re excited, right? Right? :)
To warm you up, though, here are a few peeks of the place we’re staying!
Behind this house is a tiny carriage house that a family member...

Heading to Atlanta tomorrow morning!
I’m really excited about this for a couple of reasons, which I will detail below:
The Aquarium
I have convinced my friends to go to Gladys Knight Chicken and Waffles, which I have been obsessed with going to ever since I heard it existed from a girl (from ATL) who lived on my hall. What THE NUTS — does anything in this world look like a better place to eat? The answer is no.
The...

buuuuuuuuuuuuut, moving has been HAPPENING! I have a new house and a new room to share with everyone! Except for sleeping, I have been hard pressed for an ounce of downtime these past couple of weeks.
To be honest, being away from the blogosphere has taken a lot away from my mind, but at the same time… I missed you guys! How is everyone?

Mother's Day is around the corner...
There are certain random times of the year when I grow really nostalgic and weepy over missing my childhood, especially when I think of my home state, Louisiana.
I grew up in a swampy neighborhood, where the landscape just seemed to drip; we had Spanish moss, knobby bald cypress trees poking up from the green soupy water, and the English ivy would practically eat the side of our house.
Every...
